You do not need an invite to get Muse if you are in the United States or Canada: download the app or go to muse.ai and sign up with a Meta account. An invite code is a bonus, not a gate: redeem one in Settings within 48 hours of joining and both you and the person who shared it get 1 billion Muse tokens. Outside the US and Canada you can join the waitlist; a code will not skip it.
Do you need an invite?
No. This trips people up because the words "invite code" and "invitation code" appear everywhere. Muse launched openly in the US on September 8, 2026 and later opened in Canada. If you are in either country, you sign up like any other app.
What the invite code does is add tokens. Tokens are the unit Muse uses to measure how much work you have asked it to do; the free plan gives you a weekly allowance, and an invite code drops a large one-time bonus on top. Details on tokens are in Meta Muse pricing explained.
How invite codes work
Meta's chief AI officer Alexandr Wang announced the program on September 16, 2026. The rules, as Meta and its executives have stated them:
- A new user who redeems someone's code within 48 hours of joining gets 1 billion Muse tokens.
- The person who shared the code also gets 1 billion tokens, for each friend who redeems it.
- Each person can earn the bonus for up to 20 friends, so a referrer can collect up to 20 billion tokens.
- Wang said that inviting all 20 friends unlocks early access to Muse's newest features.
- The bonus is one-time. It does not change your weekly limit.
- Codes stop working once they have been redeemed a set number of times, so a code posted publicly can run out.
Because everyone gains from sharing, you will see codes all over X, Threads, Reddit and websites like this one. They all do the same thing. Ours is on the Start page, with a copy button. We disclose it plainly: when you use it, we get tokens too, and that is the only thing we get from it.
How to redeem a code, step by step
- Sign up for Muse in the app or at muse.ai.
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap Redeem invitation code. On some versions it reads "Have an invite code."
- Paste the code and confirm.
- Check that the bonus shows in your token balance before you close Settings.
Do this immediately after signing up. The 48-hour clock starts when you create the account, not when you first open Settings, and there is no way to reopen the window later.
What 1 billion tokens is worth
Meta does not publish how many tokens a typical task uses, so exact math is not possible. But the plan sizes give a scale:

A rough dollar value that circulates online is around $40 to $50, based on the Power plan's price per token. Treat that as a ballpark. What matters more is that for a normal user, 1 billion tokens is several months of headroom, which means you can connect apps, let Muse run background tasks, and never think about the meter.
One thing to understand about how tokens are spent: an agent uses tokens on things you never see, such as planning, reading the web pages it browses, and looking at screenshots of the browser it is driving. So a long shopping comparison costs far more than a short chat. That is why the free tier can feel generous for questions and tighter for big multi-step jobs.
Where Muse is available
As of September 27, 2026:
- United States: available to everyone on iOS, Android, web (muse.ai) and WhatsApp. Mac app available.
- Canada: available.
- Everywhere else: waitlist.
Meta describes Muse as "limited testing that may not be available in every location or account," which means two things. Features can differ between accounts even inside the US, and paid plans "may vary by region and account." If a friend has a feature you do not, that is usually the reason, not something you did wrong.
Availability is tied to the country of your Apple Account or Google Play account, not where you physically are. Travelling does not change it, and neither does a VPN for the app store listing.
Outside the US and Canada: the waitlist
If you are in the UK, the EU, India, Australia or anywhere else, here is the honest picture.
- Join the waitlist at muse.ai. It is the only official route.
- An invite code does not unlock Muse in a country where it has not launched. It only adds tokens to an account that already exists. Websites that imply otherwise are wrong.
- Muse Spark, the model behind Muse, is separately available to developers through Meta's Model API and through OpenRouter, so if you are technical and just want to try the model, you can. That is not the same as having the agent.
- Some Meta AI features that use Muse models, like Muse Image inside Instagram, roll out on a different schedule from the Muse agent.

Which devices and apps
- iPhone: Muse in the App Store. Requires a recent iOS.
- Android: Muse on Google Play. Use the official listing; APK files from third-party sites are a common way to get malware, and they will not work outside supported countries anyway.
- Web: muse.ai in Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Everything works, including connecting apps.
- WhatsApp: link it from Settings in the Muse app using the QR code shown there. Muse then appears as a normal chat.
- Mac: a desktop app downloaded from Meta (not the Mac App Store). Since September 23 it can operate other Mac apps with your permission. A Windows version has not been announced.
- Meta AI glasses: announced at Connect, coming "in the coming months."
If the code does not work
Work through these in order:
- Are you past 48 hours? If you created the account more than two days ago, no code will work. There is no appeal.
- Has the code run out? Codes have a redemption cap. Try a different, fresher code.
- Is the field missing? The redeem option lives under Settings, then General. If you do not see it, update the app; some early builds did not show it.
- Are you in a supported country? Outside the US and Canada, the account may exist but be on a waitlist, and bonuses do not apply until the account is active.
- Did you type it exactly? Codes are six characters, case-insensitive, no spaces.
