Find where films, TV shows, games and anime were filmed or set, and what was shot near you.
Read-only atlas built from Wikidata covering over 37,000 productions and 37,000 places. Muse can look up where a film or show was filmed, list productions shot at a place, find locations near a coordinate, and rank famous filming spots by country or type. Games and anime are marked as settings, not filming sites.
Try asking Muse: "What famous movies were filmed near me in Vancouver?"

Movie Scene Map is a remote MCP server, so any assistant that can add a custom connector by link can use it. Same link, same tools.
In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Connectors (called Apps & Connectors on some accounts).
Under Advanced settings, switch on Developer mode. That is what lets you add a connector by link.
Choose Create, give it a name, paste the link as the MCP server URL, and save. If it needs a sign-in, ChatGPT asks for it here.
Start a chat, open the tools menu, pick the connector, and ask. ChatGPT asks before it runs a tool the first time.
Custom connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan, and on Team, Enterprise and Edu accounts only an admin can add them. Our "Working" label means the server answered us; it cannot tell whether your plan lets you add it. All connectors that work in ChatGPT
In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector, give it a name, and paste the link.
If it needs a sign-in, Claude sends you to it. Then turn the connector on in a chat from the tools menu and ask.
Custom connectors are available on paid Claude plans; on Team and Enterprise accounts an admin may need to add them. Our "Working" label means the server answered us; it cannot tell whether your plan lets you add it. All connectors that work in Claude

Screened, no issues found
Screening looks for known threats and hidden instructions at the time of the check, and runs again weekly and whenever the tool list changes. It cannot see the server's code, so only connect what you need and review what Muse asks to do. How screening works.
where_was_it_filmedReturns every place recorded for a film, series, game, anime or manga, with coordinates, plus the countries recorded too coarsely to place. Covers 37,259 productions across 37,350 places. Films and series are placed where they were filmed (Wikidata P915). Video games, anime and msearch_productionsFinds productions by name, ignoring accents and case, best match first, then by how widely Wikipedia covers them. An optional filter by kind: film, tv, game, anime or manga. Each result carries its kind, its year and a `relation` field: films and series are placed where they werewhat_was_filmed_hereReturns everything recorded as made at a place, most widely covered first. Takes the place as a slug (e.g. "skellig-michael") or as a name. Each result carries a `relation` field, because a video game, an anime or a manga tied to a place is set there, not filmed there.search_locationsFinds filming locations by name, optionally filtered by country (a name or a two letter ISO code) and by kind of place. Results are ordered by fame rank, which comes from the most widely covered production shot there rather than from the place itself.locations_nearLists the filming locations within a radius of a WGS84 coordinate, most famous first, each with its `distance_km`: what was filmed near a point. The radius defaults to 50 km (at most 500). Takes a latitude and a longitude in degrees; it does not look up place names.top_locationsRanks the places in the atlas, worldwide or inside one country or one kind of place. The default order is fame rank, which comes from the most widely covered production shot there, so rank 1 is the place the most famous production used, not the place with the most credits. With `list_countriesLists every country in the atlas with its number of filming locations, most first. Countries with a page on the site carry its URL. The counts reflect what Wikidata records, which is uneven and skewed to Europe and North America: they are records, not an inventory of world film pget_statisticsHeadline figures computed live from the atlas: totals by medium and by kind of place, the top countries, the busiest and the most famous locations, and how many productions Wikidata records only at country level and so cannot place.https://moviescenemap.com/mcpNot in Muse's Connectors list yet, but Muse can still use it. At the last check (November 7, 2026, 01:15 UTC) the endpoint was working, answering in 365ms. Over the last 7 days it answered 100% of health checks. It is checked every 15 minutes.
It was screened on November 5, 2026 with the result "screened, no issues found". Screening checks the domain against threat feeds and reads the tools for hidden instructions and requests for passwords or card numbers. It cannot see the server's code, so grant only the access you need.
It exposes 8 tools, including where_was_it_filmed, search_productions, what_was_filmed_here, search_locations. For example, you could ask Muse: "What famous movies were filmed near me in Vancouver?"
