Fetch full transcripts from YouTube videos with metadata, search for videos or channels, browse a channel's latest uploads or all videos, and list videos in playlists. No authentication required.

How to connect: Not in Muse's Connectors list yet, but Muse can still use it. Paste this into Muse: "Use YouTube Transcript + YouTube Search to help me. It is a free service with an MCP server at https://getyoutubetranscript.com/api/mcp. It does not need an API key. Ask me before you share anything with it." Muse asks before it shares anything with the app's site. Meta does not review apps used this way, so only use ones you trust. We tested this in the Muse app on September 24, 2026: Muse used an app's link directly this way and returned a live answer.

- get_youtube_transcript: Fetch the full transcript for a YouTube video, plus its title/author/thumbnail metadata. Returns the complete spoken text as one block - this API does not provide per-segment timestamps, so don't ask for or expect a timestamped breakdown.
- search_youtube: Search YouTube for videos or channels. Paginate with `continuation` from a previous response.
- get_channel_latest_videos: Get a channel's metadata plus its most recent uploads. Free - no credits charged.
- search_channel_videos: Search within one channel's videos for a query. Paginate with `continuation` from a previous response.
- list_channel_videos: List every video a channel has uploaded (the /videos tab), paginated. Paginate with `continuation` from a previous response.
- list_playlist_videos: Get every video in a YouTube playlist, paginated. Paginate with `continuation` from a previous response.
- get_credits: Check the remaining credit balance for this key/account. Free - never charged, does not affect the balance.
