Access NHTSA recalls, EPA fuel economy, owner complaints, crash ratings, service bulletins and diagnostic trouble codes for US vehicles. Search by make and model, decode a VIN, compare two vehicles, or look up what a trouble code means and which vehicles report it.

How to connect: Not in Muse's Connectors list yet, but Muse can still use it. Paste this into Muse: "Use WhichTrim vehicle records to help me. It is a free service with an MCP server at https://whichtrim.com/portal/mcp. It does not need an API key. Ask me before you share anything with it." Muse asks before it shares anything with the app's site. Meta does not review apps used this way, so only use ones you trust. We tested this in the Muse app on September 24, 2026: Muse used an app's link directly this way and returned a live answer.

Tools:
- search_vehicles: Find model years in the WhichTrim catalogue by make, model and/or year. Returns each match with its Safety Signal grade, recall count and page URL. Use this first to get the vehicle id that the other tools take.
- get_vehicle: The full published record for one model year: EPA fuel economy, NHTSA recalls, owner-complaint counts and the mileage at which owners reported problems, crash ratings, open investigations, service bulletins and the diagnostic trouble codes its record names.
