Pillwise connects to US medication data including brand and generic names, available forms and strengths, NDC codes, RxCUI identifiers, and current recalls and shortages. Muse can help you verify a medication, check what forms it comes in, or alert you to safety issues.

How to connect: Not in Muse's Connectors list yet, but Muse can still use it. Paste this into Muse: "Use Pillwise to help me. It is a free service with an MCP server at https://api.pillwise.dev/mcp. It needs an API key from pillwise.dev; ask me to enter it through your secure credential prompt. Ask me before you share anything with it." Muse asks before it shares anything with the app's site. Meta does not review apps used this way, so only use ones you trust. We tested this in the Muse app on September 24, 2026: Muse used an app's link directly this way and returned a live answer.

Tools:
- search_medications: Typeahead search by what a person calls a medication: brand, ingredient or everyday name. Returns brand and ingredient groups in the order a person would pick, not packages.
- get_form_options: The forms (tablet, liquid, patch…) and strengths a medication comes in, with labels for people and values to send back. Use the id from a search hit.
- get_drug: The full record for a Pillwise drug id: names, ingredients, form, strength, packages and recalls.
- get_packages: The package NDCs that belong to a Pillwise drug id.
- lookup_ndc: The package and drug for an NDC: 11 digits, 10 with hyphens (4-4-2, 5-3-2 or 5-4-1), or a product NDC. A bare 10-digit code is matched only as listed; no padding is guessed.
- lookup_rxcui: The clinical drug for an RxCUI.
- list_recalls: Drug recalls, filtered by at least one of ndc, drug_id or since.
- list_shortages: Drug shortages, filtered by at least one of ndc or drug_id.
- catalog_freshness: How current the catalog is: the snapshot served and when it was built.
