Connects to Open Food Facts to look up packaged foods by barcode, search by ingredients or labels, and compare nutrition scores. Returns Nutri-Score, allergens, additives, NOVA processing level, and full nutrition facts.

Example request: "Compare the nutrition and allergen content of three breakfast cereals by scanning their barcodes."

How to connect: Not in Muse's Connectors list yet, but Muse can still use it. Paste this into Muse: "Use Open Food Facts to help me. It is a free service with an MCP server at https://openfoodfacts.caseyjhand.com/mcp. It does not need an API key. Ask me before you share anything with it." Muse asks before it shares anything with the app's site. Meta does not review apps used this way, so only use ones you trust. We tested this in the Muse app on September 24, 2026: Muse used an app's link directly this way and returned a live answer.

Returns a normalized table of energy (kcal/100g), fat, saturated fat, sugars, salt, protein, fiber, Nutri-Score, NOVA group, and Green-Score. - off_browse_taxonomy: Resolve a human term to the canonical Open Food Facts tag ID that off_search_products filters on. Covers categories, labels/certifications, allergens, additives, countries, NOVA groups, and Nutri-Score grades. Pass a search term to resolve against the Open Food Facts vocabulary,
