Connects to the EIA weekly retail gasoline survey. Muse can look up regular, midgrade, premium or diesel prices for the US, a region, state or surveyed city, compare areas from cheapest to most expensive, and estimate fill-up or trip fuel costs from gallons, miles and your car's miles per gallon.

Example request: "What is the average gas price in Texas this week, and what would a 15 gallon fill-up cost?"

How to connect: Not in Muse's Connectors list yet, but Muse can still use it. Paste this into Muse: "Use Gas Prices Today to help me. It is a free service with an MCP server at https://gas-prices-today-mcp.lipmichal.workers.dev/mcp. It does not need an API key. Ask me before you share anything with it." Muse asks before it shares anything with the app's site. Meta does not review apps used this way, so only use ones you trust. We tested this in the Muse app on September 24, 2026: Muse used an app's link directly this way and returned a live answer.

- get_gas_prices: Latest EIA weekly average retail price per gallon (taxes included) of regular, midgrade or premium gasoline, all grades or diesel for the US, an EIA region, one of nine surveyed states, one of ten surveyed cities, or the region of any other state, read at call time from eia.gov: 
- compare_gas_prices: Ranks the areas EIA prices (states, cities, regions) from cheapest to most expensive for a grade this week, with the US average, the cheapest and the most expensive area.
- estimate_fill_up_cost: Cost of filling a tank (gallons times this week's EIA average for the area, or your price per gallon), and optionally the fuel cost of a trip from miles and miles per gallon, including cents per mile.
